SPRINGFIELD, Mo. --- Northeastern State had a pair of singles players advance into the round of 16 Saturday at the ITA Regional Championships.

Ivana Belejova won her match over Morgan Rainey of Washburn, 6-0, 6-1, while Jeanne Mallem was ousted by Brittni Fausett of Tarleton State, 6-3, 6-1.

In the quarterfinals, Belejova took on Abilene Christian's Hannah Kelley and dropped a 6-1, 6-0 decision to end her hopes of advancing to the semifinals.

Mallem and Belejova also advanced to the round of 16 in doubles action, but were also defeated there.

In earlier rounds for NSU, Houda Bellamine droped a pair of 6-4 sets to Alex Adams of Incarnate Word. Barbora Jirickova lost her first-round match to East Central's Marta Valles, 6-0, 6-2.
