RiverHawks Earn Berth in LSC Tennis Finals
OKLAHOMA CITY – Northeastern State advanced to the finals of the Lone Star Conference Women’s Tennis Championships at the Oklahoma City Tennis Center after defeating East Central and Tarleton State on Friday.
The RiverHawks . ranked 16th in the nation will battle No.7-ranked Abilene Christian beginning at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the OKC Tennis Center.
Northeastern State defeated East Central University 5-0 in the first round and stopped Tarleton State 5-4 in the semifinals to gain a berth in Saturday’s championship finals. The RiverHawks are 13-3 this season.
Abilene Christian, which is No. 1 in the South Central Regional rankings and 7-0 in the LSC, reached the championship match by defeating Southeastern State 5-0 and Central Oklahoma 5-0 in the semifinals.
The Wildcats won the regular season match-up with the RiverHawks, 7-2, on March 13 in Abilene.
