RiverHawks Roll at LSC Tourney

WICHITA FALLS, Texas ---  Northeastern State had little trouble disposing of host Midwestern State with an 5-1 victory in the first round of the Lone Star Conference Championships at the Weeks Park Tennis Center here Thursday morning.

The #14 RiverHawks improve to 18-3 on the year and will face #16 Tarleton State in the semi-finals at 2:30 p.m.

Northeastern State picked up three easy victories in the doubles matches, as the #1 team of Zuzanna Osinska and Emina Spirtovic defeated Alex Odell-Michaels and Faye D'Hamecourt 8-3, Karolina Cichon and Micaela Romanova defeated Tonya Blair and Holly Gunderson 8-3 at #2 doubles, and Agata Skorupska and Valerie McKinney picked up a 8-4 victory over Kaja Banas and Collean Kinzer at #3.

Needing only two wins in singles competition, Osinska defeated Odell-Michels 6-4, 6-0 and Spirtovic captured a 6-1, 6-3 victory over Blair to wrap the victory and advance.
