RiverHawks Runners-Up at ITA

TOPEKA, Kan. --- Zuzanna Osinska fell in a dramatic three-set marathon Sunday at the 2009 Wilson/ITA South Central Women's Tennis Championships. The senior lost to East Central's Julia Arguello, 7-6 (4), 4-6, 7-5 (5) to finish as runner-up in the fall singles event.

Arguello was seeded No. 1 in the tournament bracket, while the RiverHawks' Osinska was the No. 2 seed.

Osinska advanced to the championship after edging Cameron's Amanda Moberg, 6-4, 7-5. In the other semifinal, Arguello eliminated third-seeded Trang LeNguyen of Washburn, 2-6, 6-4, 7-5.

In doubles action, Osinska and Emina Spirtovic bowed out in the championship to Abilene Christian's Jaclyn Walker and Dina Pavlin. The ACU duo earned a 6-2, 6-1 decision to claim the doubles title.
