Hill, Shines against ECU

Player of the game: Deb Hill    East Central 3-2 Win

Senior goalkeeper Deb Hill has been named player of the game for her efforts in the win this past Sunday to put NSU past East Central University.  The game was a back and forth match, with both teams having multiple quality looks at goals.  In very wet conditions Deb made several keys saves to keep the Riverhawks within striking distance.  ECU went up first after a small breakdown with NSU defense.  NSU would equalize on Rachel Sordhal goal coming off a penalty kick.  NSU would go ahead after a Katie Valdez goal, but only for a short lead as ECU was awarded PK of their own shortly after.  Now at 2 to 2 with 45 seconds left in the match, Jen Clark strips a ball from the left back of ECU and beats their keeper.  ECU then pushes everyone forward and with about 10 seconds left in the game an ECU midfielder crushes a shot from 25 yards out that Deb fully extended to dive for and parry over the cross bar.  Deb played well all match long and came up with a huge save at the end of regulation to ensure the win.  She has been a staple for NSU in goal these past two seasons.
