RiverHawks Tie NW Missouri State
MARYVILLE, Mo. --- Ashley Dolezel scored an unassisted goal in the 85th minute Sunday as Northeastern State tied Northwest Missouri State, 1-1, in a women's college soccer match at the Bearcat Pitch.
The RiverHawks remain unbeaten at 1-0-1 on the year. NWMSU is 0-1-1.
Dolezel's tally came at the 84:37 mark, and that knotted the match at 1-all. The Bearcats had taken an early lead when Hannah Silvey scored just 14 minutes in.
In the overtime sessions, the RiverHawks had three shots, two of those coming in the first 10 minutes, while Northwest Missouri only mounted one shot late. Statistically, the match was as even as the score with each squad's keeper gathering four saves.
Northeastern State will continue its road swing with two matches this week -- at Texas A&M-International on Friday and at St. Mary's on Sunday. The RiverHawks will meet Drury in Springfield on Sept. 19 before returning to play their first home match of the year on Sept.21 against Harding.
