ASU Tops RiverHawks in Season Finale
TAHLEQUAH, Okla. --- Angelo State made a goal in the 9th minute stand in a 1-0 Lone Star Conference soccer win over Northeastern State on Sunday.
Brandi DeBacker scored off Hanna Horeis's assist just 8:09 into the match. In fact, the Rambelles had only two other shots on goal the rest of the day.
Northeastern State had 12 shots, three on goal, and its only serious bid to tie the match came in the 84th minute when Katie Valdez hit a free kick off the crossbar from 35 yards away.
The RiverHawks closed out the year with a 7-6-5 overall record and 3-5-3 mark in league play. ASU improved to 12-5-1 and 9-2.
