RiverHawks Fall to UCO

 

TAHLEQUAH, OKLA. - Northeastern State University women's soccer team jumped out to a1-0 lead against University of Central Oklahoma but could not hold on as the Bronchos captured a 4-1 victory at the RiverHawks' pitch Sunday afternoon in a Lone Star Conference match.

The RiverHawks are now 3-4 for the season and 0-1 in league play while UCO goes to 7-3-1 and 1-0.

Early Villegas scored Northeastern State's only goal at 4:06 in the first half on an assist by Meredith Martin. The goal came on a corner kick opportunity.

UCO then scored four consecutive goals, three by Britti Walker at 5:55 to tie the match and then at 9:07 to put UCO a head to stay. Walker scored her final goal in the second half at 47:59. Tiffany Meek assisted on all three goals.

Stephanie Fleig scored at 33:28 on an assist by Walker, that game UCO a 3-1 lead, just before Walker's final goal.

Northeastern State will next play East Central Universityy on Tuesday at the RiverHawk pitch at 3 p.m.
