RiverHawks Tie Abilene in 2OT

ABILENE, TEXAS - Northeastern State freshman Rachel Sordahl scored her
ninth goal of the season in the second half to tie Abilene Christian 2-2 as  the
RiverHawks and Wildcats failed to score in two overtimes in the  Lone Star Conference battle Friday on the Wildcats pitch.

The RiverHawks are now 4-4 for the year and 1-1-1 in LSC action while Abilene
goes to 6-3-1 and 1-0-1.

Northeastern State took a 1-0 lead just 2:44 into the game on a  Carina Martinez goal. The Wildcats tied the match on a Courtney Wilson goal at 19:31 and took
the lead on Jordan Reese goal at 22:12.

 Sordahl tied the scored  2-2 at 72:54 to deadlock the match,  sending it into the first overtime.

The RiverHawks,however, did not get a shot in the first extra period. Northeastern State outshot the Wildcats in the second overtime 4-1.

 Abilene had a chance for the win when the Wildcats' Courtney Wilson had a penalty kick but RiverHawks' goalkeeper P.J. Davis made an outstanding save to preserve
the tie. Davis playing the entire match made nine saves.
