Nardy, Nolan Honored
RICHARDSON, Texas ----- Northeastern State's Brittany Nolan and Patricia Nardy claimed player of the week honors as released by the conference office on Wednesday afternoon.
Nolan, a Rogers, Ark senior, converted two free kicks from 30 yards out to notch her first two goals of the year and give the RiverHawks their first trip to the Lone Star Conference tournament since 2003. The first goal preserved a tie against first place Texas A&M-Commerce and the second propelled the RiverHawks to a 2-1 victory over Texas Woman's University.
Nardy, a Sao Paulo, Brazil sophomore, collected nine saves against Texas A&M-Commerce and four against Texas Woman's to lead Northeastern State to a 1-0-1 mark last week. The honor is the second for Nardy this season and her 124 saves this season sets a new school record, breaking the record set back in 1998 by Kathy Lawson.
The RiverHawks will open the LSC Tournament at 12:00 against the Mustangs of Midwestern State.
