NSU Fifth at Oklahoma Intercollegiate
LAWTON, Okla. --- Whitney McAteer and Kelsey Kirkpatrick paced Northeastern State with rounds of 75 and 76, respectively, as the RiverHawks sit in fifth place after the opening round of the Oklahoma Intercollegiate at Lawton/Ft. Sill Golf Course.
Despite counting four rounds below 80, NSU is well behind the leader, Tarleton State, which carded a spectacular 291. Western Texas CC (299) is second, followed by Newman (303), Cameron (306) and NSU.
Central Oklahoma's Chaney Uhles is the individual leader after the first 18 holes at 2-under-par 70. Northeastern State's McAteer and Kirkpatrick as 12th and 19th in the medalist race. NSU's other scores included Brooke Allison (78), Danielle Wright (79) and Arizona Chin (83).
Play concludes Tuesday with 18 holes beginning at 8 a.m.
