RiverHawks Fourth at Tarleton Classic After Opening Round

GRANBURY, Texas – Northeastern State fired an opening round 304 to place fourth in the Tarleton State Classic at the par 72, 6,216 yard Harbor Lakes Golf Course, just eight- strokes off the lead.

Host Tarleton State leads the women’s tournament with a 296 total followed by Grand Canyon University by a stroke at 297 and Angelo State at 302. The RiverHawks are within striking distance at 304, just 8-strokes back.

The RiverHawks’ Kelsey Kirkpatrick fired a 74 two strokes over par for seventh place after the first round, four strokes back of tournament leader Georgina Dunn of Grand Canyon at 2-under 70. Northeastern State’s Whitney McAteer is 8th, after an opening round 75.
