RiverHawks Open in 8th Position

 

OKLAHOMA CITY - Northeastern State fired an opening round 315 (eighth place) in the University of Central Oklahoma Women's Classic Monday, trailing leader St. Edwards University by 18 strokes, who shot a 297 at the par 70, 5,967 yard Lincoln Park East Course.

Host UCO followed at an even 300 with Tarleton State at 302, Cameron 306 with Dallas Baptist and Midwestern State fifth at 308 in the 18-team field.

Jenks freshman Whitney McAteer and Shaunda Petree opened with a 7-over par 77, trailing St. Edward's Emily Kvinta, Angelo State's Raelyn Smith and St. Edward's Kirby, who all shot a 1-over par 71.

Other Riverhawk first-round scores were Paola Torres 80, Katie Miller 81 and Liz Cagle 84
