Bird, Miller Pace RiverHawks
GOODYEAR, Ariz. --- Northeastern State (OK) finished the Grand Canyon Women's Invitational with a 12th place finish as Stephanie Bird and Katie Miller tied for 14th at the Palm Valley Golf Course here Tuesday.
Bird and Miller fired identical rounds of 78 and 77 for a two-round total of 155 to pace the RiverHawks. Shaunda Petree shaved two shots off her first round score to finish tied for 61st, Liz Cagle shots rounds of 85 to tie for 69th and Julie Curran fired rounds of 92 to finish 85th.
First round leader CSU-Monterey Bay captured the tournament title by 16 shots over Sonoma State and third place St. Edward's University.
Next action for the RiverHawks will be at the Tarleton State Coca-Cola Classic held at the Squaw Creek Golf Club in Glen Rose, Texas on April 13-14.
