McAteer Ties for Medalist Honors at Lady Rattler Tournament

SAN ANTONIO, Texas - Northeastern State sophomore Whitney McAteer picked-up right were she left off from her dazzling freshman season by tying for medalist honors at St. Mary's University's Lady Rattler Invitational.

The tournament was cancelled Tuesday due to the inclement weather which hit South Texas and reverted back to Monday's scores on the par 71, 5,810 yard Republic Country Club.

McAteer, who is from Jenks, fired a two-over par 73 to deadlock with Tarleton State's Melanie Tham. The RiverHawks' Katie Miller shot a six-over 77 to finish in a tie for seventh.

Tarleton State took the team title with a 299, four stroke better than second place Northeastern State which finished with a 303 in the 11-team field.
