Weekly Honor Goes to Tyler
RICHARDSON, Texas (Jan. 31) --- Tosha Tyler was named the Lone Star Conference North Division Offensive Player of the Week.
Tyler paced Northeastern State a week ago by scoring 37 points (18.5 average), while shooting over 60 percent for the week. Tyler notched a career-high at East Central with 28 points, 25 of those coming in the first half when she was 7-for-7 from the field, 5-of-5 from behind the arc and 6-of-6 from the free throw line. She made six consecutive 3-point baskets, two shy of the LSC mark, before missing a shot late in the game.
She finished 8-of-9 from the floor, 6-of-7 from the arc and 6-of-6 at the line. Her 6 treys matched the NSU school record. For the week, Tyler was 11-of-17 overall (.647), 8-of-11 from 3-point range (.727) and 7-of-8 (.875) from the charity stripe.
The No. 7-ranked RiverHawks were 2-0 last week. They beat ECU 80-59 and posted a 67-52 win at home against Texas Woman’s to improve to 16-2 overall and 5-1 in league play.
