Tate Signs NLI With RiverHawks

TAHLEQUAH, Okla. --- Fontana Tate has signed a National Letter of Intent to play basketball next season at Northeastern State.

Tate is currently a senior at Muldrow (Okla.) High School

"Fontana is a combination guard who can score and distribute the ball equally well," said head coach Randy Gipson, who recently earned his 500th coaching victory. "She is a good athlete and seems to possess the capacity for hard work that it takes to excel at our level.

"We are extremely pleased to have Fontana join our program."

Tate helped lead the Bulldogs to a 24-3 record a year ago where they made it to the state quarterfinals. During her career, she has averaged 17 points per game, while shooting 55 percent from the floor, 43 percent from the arc and 86 percent from the free throw line.
