RiverHawks Top SC Regional Poll

The first NCAA Regional Rankings have been released and Northeastern State is the South Central's top rated squad.

NSU, which improved to 15-2 on Wednesday night at East Central, received its first-ever No. 1 regional rating since joining the NCAA in 1997. TheRiverHawks have a regional record of 15-1.

The South Central Region is comprised of teams from the Lone Star Conference, Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association and Heartland Conference. Conference Tournament champions at season's end receive an automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament in each region, while the next five highest ranked teams in the region complete the 8-team field.

Washburn is the No. 2 team in the region, followed by Tarleton State, Northwest Missouri State, Emporia State, West Texas A&M, Central Oklahoma, Southeastern Oklahoma, Missouri Southern and Texas Woman's.
