LSC Women's Tournament Field Set
RICHARDSON, Texas -- The field has been set for the Lone Star Conference Women's Tournament which begins Thursday at Bartlesville High School's Bruin Field House.
Northeastern State and West Texas A&M have received the No. 1 seeds in the eight team field. The RiverHawks the champions of the North Division at 12-1 and 24-5 overall will play Texas A&M-Kingsville (18-9, 6-6) the No. 4 seed at 2:30 p.m. Thursday.
It will be the second meeting of the season between the two schools. The RiverHawks defeated the Javelinas 72-51 last December at Jack Dobbins Field House.
West Texas A&M, champions of the South Division at 10-2 and 26-3 overall, will open against the North's No. 4 seed, Southeastern State (19-8, 9-5) at 8 p.m. Thursday.
The tournament gets under way at noon with the North's No. 3 seed Texas Woman's University (15-11, 9-5) battling the South's No. 2 seed Tarleton State (22-5, 9-3).
Central Oklahoma (21-6, 12-2), the North's No. 2 seed will battle the South's No. 3 seed Abilene Christian (17-10, 7-5) at 6 p.m. Thursday.
The winner of the Texas Woman's/Tarleton State game will play the winner of the Northeastern State/ Texas A&M-Kingsville game in one semifinal at noon on Saturday.
The second semifinal will feature the winner of the Abilene Christian/Central Oklahoma winner against the Southeastern State/West Texas A&M winner at 2:30 p.m. Saturday.
The women's championship game will be played on Sunday, March 7 at 1 p.m.
