RiverHawks Go For Sweep Against East Central

TAHLEQUAH, Okla. - Northeastern State women will be going for a sweep of visiting East Central University Saturday afternoon at Jack Dobbins Field House. Tip-off is schedule for 2 p.m.

The RiverHawks, ranked No. 4 in the South Central Regional, defeated the Tigers 90-66 in Ada on January 23, and will go for win No. 2 against ECU as NSU attempts to keep deadlocked with Central Oklahoma in the race for the Lone Star Conference North Division title.

Northeastern State and Central Oklahoma are both  8-1 in LSC North play. The RiverHawks are 19-5 overall enter the East Central clash after defeating Southeastern State 67-57 at Durant on Wednesday night.

In the Savage Storm clash NSU's Megan Fraley, Jessica White and Cristy Nitz scored 14 points each in the win.

The RiverHawks have won three straight games and 15 of their last 18 games and  are averaging 67 points a game while giving up just 55.9 on defense, No. 1 in the LSC North and No. 2 in the 12-team league.

 Jasmine Webb continues to lead the RiverHawks in scoring with an11.5 scoring average. Nitz and Alix Perkins follow with 8.9 and 8.8 scoring averages respectively.

East Central, which is averaging 72.7 points on offense and 70.2 on defense, is coming off an impressive 77-47 win over Texas A&M-Commerce.

 The Tigers were led by Jourdan Clark's career high 27 points. She converted 10-of-14 from the field, including 3-of-4 treys. Clark has been averaging 11.4 points a game.

Clark was followed in the scoring by Krista Bullis' 11 points and Indhira Ramirez's 10 points.

East Central comes into the NSU game scoring 67.6 and giving up 60.7.

Following the East Central game Northeastern State will travel to Denton, Texas, on Wednesday to play Texas Woman's University at 7 p.m.
