UCO Sweeps RiverHawks

EDMOND, Okla. --  Central Oklahoma swept Northeastern State 5-4 and 5-2 in Lone Star Conference softball play over the weekend.

The RiverHawks fall to 5-15 for the season and 0-3 in conference action while UCO goes to 13-5 and 4-0 to remain atop the LSC standings.

NSU’s Cayce Coleman (3-6) took the loss in the opener, going the distance, scatterikng eight hits, walking three and striking out 5. The RiverHawks had six hits in the game with Selbi Bowin hammering a two-run homer over the center field wall and Casey Moyer blasting a solo home run in the sixth inning.

In the second game both RiverHawk runs came in the seventh inning, both unearned as UCO committed three errors in the inning.The Bronchos broke out to a 5-0 lead after two innings of play. Lacee Craig, who gave up just five hits, walked two and struck out 2, took the loss in the circle. Craig is 1-6 for the year.
