Wilson Academic All-American

KANSAS CITY, Kan. --- Michael Wilson has been named an Academic All-American by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.

Wilson, a senior defender from Elgin, Scotland, capped his NSU career this season as captain of the squad and was a three-year starter for the RiverHawks. Wilson, who is majoring in health and human performance, carries a 3.50 grade point average.

"I'm very happy for and very proud of Michael.  He has worked very hard to become the skilled player that he is today, but has also shown that he is a dedicated student," said head coach Rob Czlonka.

"He and the team have dealt with many changes over the past few years and this accomplishment has shown me that through all the adversity he and the others have faced, he has remained steadfast and focused on achieving excellence in the classroom as well as on the soccer pitch."
