Wilson Scores Twice in Win
WICHITA FALLS, Texas --- Michael Wilson scored a pair of goals to lift Northeastern State to a 3-0 shutout victory over Colorado State-Pueblo here Sunday afternoon.
The win was the second consecutive for the RiverHawks, who remain unbeaten on the year. CSUP fell to 0-3.
Wilson converted a Cory Cipollone corner kick in the 37th minute to put Northeastern State in front for good. He added a penalty kick goal with just :40 left as well. Josh Hughes netted his first goal of the year 1:53 into the second half off a Sambo Claros cross for the other tally.
CSU-Pueblo had only one shot on goal, which was saved by keeper Matt Murrell. However, Murrell received a red card in the 74th minute and was replaced by Jordan Ladbrooke for the final 16:35.
Northeastern State will play at Texas A&M-International next Friday, then will meet St. Mary's on Sunday. The RiverHawks' first home match will be on Sept. 21 against Harding.
