RiverHawks Roll Past Bison

TAHLEQUAH, Okla. --- Sambo Claros and Andre Hernandez combined for three goals in a span of 1:44 in the first half as Northeastern State blitzed Harding 5-2 in men's soccer action on Tuesday afternoon.

The RiverHawks improved to 4-1 on the year, while Harding remained winless at 0-4.

Claros, a Broken Arrow junior, scored back-to-back goals in the 23rd and 24th minutes to give Northeastern State the lead for good at 2-0. Hernandez then added the game-winning tally at the 23:44 mark on a brilliant one-on-one breakaway.

The Bison pulled to within 3-1 just before halftime, but the RiverHawks Josue Garcia scored a pair of goals at the 62:37 mark and the other :57 seconds later to put the game away.

Harding's Ryan Wilhelm had an unassisted goal with :28 left to close out the scoring.

Northeastern State will open Lone Star Conference action on Friday at home against Eastern New Mexico.
