RiverHawks Host Midwestern State
Northeastern State men’s soccer team will play host to the No.4 ranked team in the nation Friday when Midwestern State visits the RivierHawks for the Lone Star Conference match at 3 p.m.
The match has been moved from the RiiverHawks' pitch to Doc Wadley Stadium.
The Mustangs, the No. 3 ranked team in the South Central Region
enters the match with an 8-1-2 record.
The RiverHawks are No. 4 in the South Central Region with a 6-3
record and it will be their Lone Star Conference opener
“This is our first conference game and one of our goals is
to be on top of the conference race,’’ said
Northeastern State men’s coach Bobby Peterson.
“In this conference you can’t drop your games at home.
You have to take care of your home games. Fortunately this season
we have done really well at home.
" It should be a good game. They are ranked No. 3 in the region and we are No. 4. It’s an exciting time for us and it will be an exciting match,’’ said Peterson.
The Northeastern State women, 4-6-1 overall and 1-2-2 in LSC
action are on the road at Midwestern State for the LSC contest. The
RiverHawks are 1-3-1 in league play. Midwestern is 8-0-2 and 2-0 in
LSC play.
