RiverHawks Drop Dustdevils

TAHLEQUAH, Okla. --- Northeastern State's Sam Vernalls scored two goals to lift the RiverHawks' to a 2-1 victory over Texas A&M-International in a men's soccer match at the RiverHawks' pitch Friday afternoon.

Northeastern State improves to 7-6 on the year and Texas A&M International falls to 5-7-2.

Vernalls scored at 42:45 of the first half to tie the match at 1-1 after Texas International's Oscar Suvias scored at 8:44.  Cory Schmeling assisted on the Vernalls goal.

Vernalls' winning goal came at 56:05 of the second half on an assist by Neven Vujinovic.

The RiverHawks out shot Texas A&M-International 16-14 in the match. Northeastern State goalkeeper Matt Murrell made six saves in the contest.
