Midwestern State Upends RiverHawks
TAHLEQUAH, OKLA. - Fourth-ranked Midwestern State defeated Northeastern State 2-0 in the RiverHawks Lone Star Conference men's soccer opener Friday at Doc Wadley Stadium.
The RiverHawks fall to 6-4 for the season and 0-1 in LSC play, while Midwestern State improves to 9-1-2 and 2-0-1 in LSC action.
The Mustangs scored a goal in each half to get the victory. The first came at 37:35 by Landon Fruge on a deflection from 10 yards out. The second goal came in the final minute of play in the second half when Nick Auditore took a pass from Craig Sutherland, scoring from 9 yards away.
The RiverHawks took just two shots on goal in the match, while the Mustangs totaled nine with one save.
RiverHawks' goalkeeper Matt Murrell had two saves in the match.
