Truman State defeats RiverHawks
KIRKSVILLE, MO. --- Truman State captured a 2-0 win over Northeastern State men's soccer team Friday afternoon in a Central Region match.
The RiverHawks are now 5-3 for the season while Truman State goes to 8-1-1.
The Bulldogs scored a goal in each half to get the win. Matt Taylor scored off a corner kick to head the ball into the net at 10:36 of the first half. The second goal came in the second half at 63:46 when Drew Pauk headed the ball into the net off Jonathan Brown's second corner kick.
Northeastern State had just 10 shots in the match, while Truman unleashed 31. The Bulldogs attempted 11 corner kicks while Northeastern State had just one.
RiverHawks goalkeeper Matt Murrell had six saves in goal.
Northeastern State returns to action on Sunday at noon traveling to Kansas to play Newman University.
