RiverHawks 3rd After Round 1

MUSKOGEE, Okla. --- Brad Hager made the most of his Northeastern State debut on Monday with a three-under-par 68 to help the RiverHawks to a third place showing in the opening round of the 12th Annual NSU Men's Golf Classic at Muskogee Country Club.

Hager is tied for second in the medalist race, two shots behind Central Oklahoma's Josh Creel. Creel fired a prolific five-under 66 as the Bronchos sit atop the leaderboard with 18 holes to play on Tuesday.

UCO had a team total of 275, which is nine-under-par. St. Mary's is second at 280, followed by Northeastern State (282). Washburn, Central Missouri, St. Edward's and Our Lady of the Lake are tied for fourth at 285.

The field features 23 varsity teams, one junior varsity squad and five individuals. A total of 32 players shot even-par or better in the first round.
