Golf Finishes 6th
THACKERVILLE, Okla. --- Kyle Fouts had his best round of the tournament with a 5-under-par 67 on Tuesday. However, it wasn't enough as defending champion Northeastern State finished in sixth place at the 2010 Lone Star Conference Championships.
Fouts ended the event at 3-under 213 as the ninth best player individually. Blake Walker also carded a one-under-par 71 to finish in a tie for 10th overall at 2-under 214.
Abilene Christian won the team and individual titles to claim the Championship. The annual league event, which features 10 men's teams, is being held at WinStar Golf Course.
The Wildcats won their ninth LSC title and first since 1995 with a nine-under par 279 in the final round. ACU (298-275-279=852) claimed the lead in the team standings with an impressive eight birdies on holes 12-15 on Tuesday.
ACU’s Cyril Bouniol and Alex Carpenter shared individual medalist honors with at 11-under par 205 totals. Bouniol, a junior, carded a three-under 69 to claim a share of first place, while Carpenter, a freshman, was six-under 66 over the last 18 holes.
