OU Exhibition Tonight

TAHLEQUAH, Okla. --- Larry Gipson and the RiverHawks will open the 2011-12 basketball season tonight with an exhibition at the University of Oklahoma. Tip-off at Lloyd Noble Center in Norman is slated for 7:00 p.m.

The Sooners and NSU have met just one time. OU captured a 70-35 in 2005, which was Kelvin Sampson's final season.

Gipson begins his 15th season as head coach at Northeastern State. Gipson, who led NSU to the 2003 NCAA Division II title, is 240-158 during his career in Tahlequah.

Lon Kruger makes his head coaching debut for the Sooners. He is 479-304 over 26 seasons as a college coach and was named to the position at OU on April 1 of this year.
