RiverHawks to Battle No. 11 Midwestern State
TAHLEQUAH, Okla. - Northeastern State will be seeking to extend its seven game winning streak Monday night but it won't be an easy task.
The RiverHawks travel to Wichita Falls, Texas, to battle 11th-ranked Midwestern State in a Lone Star Conference crossover game at Ligon Coliseum. Tip-off is 7 p.m. The Mustangs have won 21 straight games on their home floor.

Midwestern State is 16-1 for the season and is coming off a road victory at Eastern New Mexico University 66-59 on Saturday night. The Mustangs scoring was led by 5-9 junior guard Chris Hagan who scored 15 points in the win. Hagan is averaging 14.1 points a game.
The Mustangs only loss is to Angelo State 84-76 and are averaging 84 points an outing and allowing 69 points a game. Midwestern State is the No. 1 LSC team in margin of victory, winning by 15 points a contest. They are the No. 2 in field goal percentage (.489) and the top team in free throw percentage (.728).
Following Hagan in the Mustangs scoring is 6-2 senior guard Craig Green at 14.8 and Jason Ebie, 6-1 senior guard at 108 and Rashad Austin, 6-7 senior forward at 10.1 points. Austin is also the Mustangs top rebounder with 6.5 boards per game.
The RiverHawks shut down East Central's high-power offense, which has been averaging over 90 points a game, with an outstanding defense to take a 79-67 win at the Kerr Activity Center in Ada last Saturday.
Northeastern State which is averaging 67.2 points a game received outstanding performance from pre-season All-American candidate Jason Jones, who score d 18 points and pulled down 14 rebounds for his sixth double-double of the season.
Dominique Gaines continues to play outstanding basketball since joining the RiverHawks in December, scored 15 points in the ECU game and is averaging 18.0 points an outing this season.
Marlon Burnett and Antoine Branch continue their steady play averaging 12.7 and 10.7 respectively. Against East Central, Burnett scored 13 points and Branch 10 in the win.
The RiverHawks return to Lone Star Conference North Division play Saturday when they battle the University of Central Oklahoma at 4 p.m.
