RiverHawks to Honor Jones, Burnett, Snead on Senior Night

TAHLEQUAH, Okla. - Three seniors for Northeastern State will be playing their final home game at Jack Dobbins Field House when the RiverHawks play host to Cameron University at 8 p.m.

Jason Jones, 6-7 post from Cahlors, France, J.C. Sneed, 6-5 forward from Anchorage, Alaska, and Marlon Burnett, 6-2 guard from Milwaukee, Wis., will be making their final appearance at Dobbins Field House.

The three have played an instrumental role in leading the RiverHawks to an 18-7 record for the season and a first place tie with Central Oklahoma at 9-1 in the Lone Star Conference North Division standings. The RiverHawks have locked up a No.2 seed in the LSC Conference Tournament which begins play on March 3 in Bartlesville.

The Aggies come into the Senior Night game with a 10-14 record and are winless in division play at 0-10.
He RiverHawks defeated the Aggies in Lawton last month 70-62.

Jones, who was named the LSC North Division Offensive Player of the Week, closes out an outstanding home career Wednesday.

"Jason has been a tremendous basketball player for us," said Northeastern State head coach Larry Gipson. "We've been fortunate in my 13 years here to coach Randy Keyes, John Cornwell, Jon Shepherd and Shiloh Shores, some really good post men. I think Jason needs to be in the conversation with any of those guys. He's a unique player," said Gipson.

Jones ranks No. 6 in the LSC with a 15.3 scoring average and leads the conference in rebounding with an average of 9.0 per game. He has posted nine double-doubles this season,  fourth in LSC free throw percentage at .840 draining 100-of-119 attempts and 9th in three-point field goal shooting percentage at .394, connecting on 25-of-41` attempts.

Burnett, who transferred to Northeastern State from Fresno City College, is No. 20 on the LSC scoring chart with a 12.4 scoring average. Burnett scored a career high 24 points against Harding University on the Bison's home floor on Nov. 19 last year. His top rebounding game was on Jan. 20th when he pulled down 10 boards against Southeastern State.

Snead, who came to Northeastern State, after two years of junior college basketball at Western Hills College in California, has averaged 4.2 points in a reserve role, playing in all 25 games for the RiverHawks. He scored 18 points on Jan. 12, 2009 against Rhema Bible College for a career high and scored 13 against Hillsdale College on Dec. 8 this season for a season high.

The RiverHawks close out the regular season Saturday at 4 p.m. with a road game in Weatherford, against Southwestern State.
