Jones Earns Weekly LSC Honor

RICHARDSON, Texas --- Northeastern State's Jason Jones has been named the Lone Star Conference North Division Offensive Player of the Week.

Jones had an incredibly productive offensive effort, where he averaged a double-double (21.7 points and 10 rebounds) in three Northeastern State wins. The 6-7 senior connected on 22-of-30 shots from the floor (.733), made 7-of-13 from behind the arc (.538) and missed just one free throw in 15 attempts (.933). He also grabbed 30 rebounds, including eight offensive caroms.

He scored a career-high 28 points with nine rebounds in a 77-53 win over Texas A&M-Kingsville on Dec. 10 where he made 8-of-10 shots, was 4-of-5 from the arc and 8-of-9 at the free throw line. He followed that up with a 27-point, 13-rebound performance in an 87-76 regional victory over Missouri Southern on Dec. 12.

In Northeastern State's 99-37 verdict against Hillsdale College, Jones played just 14 minutes, scored 10 points and collected eight rebounds.

He is the RiverHawks leading scorer and rebounder for the year, putting up 17.4 points and 8.6 boards.
