Patton, McVay Honored

RICHARDSON, Texas --- The Lone Star Conference honored a pair of Northeastern State standouts for their performances last week.

Drew Patton, a freshman from Fayetteville, Ark., claimed the LSC North Special Teams Player of the Week. Trey McVay, Fort Gibson junior, won the LSC North Offensive Player of the Week for the second time this season.

Patton's 20-yard field goal as time expired on Saturday night lifted the RiverHawks to a thrilling 26-24 win at Southeastern Oklahoma State. Patton also kicked a 37-yard field goal early in the third quarter to pull Northeastern State to within 14-10.

McVay caught eight passes for 126 yards, which led the LSC this week, and had a pair of TD receptions. He also hauled in three Kenny Davis passes on the game-winning drive to set up Patton's heroics at the end.
