Hammer posted 803 rushing yards, 10 touchdowns, 169 tackles, five sacks and four interceptions as a three-year starter on the Fayetteville High School football team and head coach Daryl Patton.  He earned an All-Conference selection as a junior and was a pre-season All-State selection as a senior.
