NSU Falters Late, Falls to Bacone
TAHLEQUAH, Okla. ---- Northeastern State scored six times in the eighth, but surrendered seven just one-half inning later as Bacone beat the RiverHawks, 16-7, at Rousey Field.
The Warriors had rocked NSU pitching and was rolling 9-1 heading into the bottom of the eighth. Northeastern State responded by scoring six run on just three hits while taking advantage of three BC errors to pull within 9-7 with an inning left.
NSU wasn't able to close the deal as Bacone answered with a 7-run outburst to put the game away. The Warriors pounded out 16 hits compared to nine for the RiverHawks (3-4). Bacone had four errors and NSU had three.
The RiverHawks will be back in action this weekend to host Northwest Missouri State and Arkansas Tech in a 3-team festival at Rousey Field.
