Baseball Opener Snowed Out

TAHLEQUAH, Okla. (Feb. 3) --- Excessive snowfall this week has forced the cancellation of Northeastern State's 2011 baseball season opener.

The RiverHawks were scheduled to begin the year at home on Friday with a 3-game series against West Texas A&M. Officials pushed the games back a day, but Rousey Field is still blanketed with snow and more winter precipitation forecast for this weekend.

At this time the series will not be rescheduled by Lone Star Conference policy. NSU is slated to play a single 9-inning game on Tuesday at home with Pittsburg (Kansas) State, weather permitting.
