KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Northeastern State University had 123 student-athletes named to the MIAA Academic Honor Roll, the league announced today.

To achieve honor roll status, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade-point average of 3.00 and have at least two terms of attendance at the certifying member institution, excluding summer terms.

The football team had the most honorees from NSU with 32 academic honor roll selections, while the women's soccer program led the women's teams with 21 selections.

Of the 123 MIAA Academic Honor Roll honorees, 16 were named MIAA Scholar-Athletes. MIAA Scholar-Athlete awards are given to those who have a cumulative grade-point average of 3.50, have at least two terms of attendance at the certifying member institution, excluding summer terms, and, if competing in a championship sport of the MIAA, earn All-MIAA honors.

The women's tennis team had five MIAA Scholar-Athletes, while the men's soccer program had three.

The RiverHawks had two student-athletes who earned the MIAA Academic Excellence Award, which is given to those who maintain a cumulative grade-point average of 4.00 and have at least two terms of attendance at the certifying member institution, excluding summer terms.

NSU's two recipients were
Jolene Thompson, women's soccer, and
Hudson Baab, football.
